Ciao from Roma!

Well it is 1:15am and we are finally settled into our diggs in Rome! We had another long 2 days of travel and are exhausted! We BARELY made the last bus of the day to the port...literally running and begging to get on it! Then our ferry (which left at 11:30pm) took 3 hours longer, so by the time we got to the train station in Bari the train we were planning to take to Rome was full.... :( luckily after Katie's Italian we got a later train that arrived at 10:40 (and can I please tell you all that they had the NASTIEST NASTY NASTY food!!! haaha mayo and ham sandwich, heavy on the mayo)...by the time we got here the metro was closed so we decided to take a cab to our hostel, where we found a note from the owner saying to call him when we got here because we were supposed to be here at 6pm...haha after begging the nearest grocery / mini mart owners to let us use their phone, we got a hold of him and are settled in a place with only 4 other rooms! haha

Tomorrow we will go to the vatician early and see some sights around
Roma and maybe head out for the night. Wednesday we will see some more sights and try and get as much pizza and pasta in as possible before we head back to french fry land (belgium)....we LOVED the food in greece...but we will all puke if we eat another Gyro or Suvlaki plate anytime soon.

Thats all from rome tonight!

Ciao!!

p.s. mom and fam thanks for the pic! Hope you didnt have any fun without me ;)

HELLO!!! the only way I know how to write on here is to leave a comment. So neen is really good at writing blogs and keeping everyone updated but she has to leave out all the details cause it would take forever to tell you guys all the great things we are doing. good thing im not the writer of these blogs because i would get too carried away with the specifics of each day! Greece was AMAZING! and we all had the best time. Santorini was gorgeous but CORFU was my favorite place out of everywhere we have been. Not to mention the resort hostel we stayed at. it was 25 euro a night. this included a breakfast of eggs and platters of cheese, meat, and bread. let me tell u I was in heaven!!! our room had a balcony overlooking the beautiful pink palace beach. and at night we had a three course dinner with soup, salad, and a huge main course not to mention a happy hour from 5-11. We met such good friends and will hopefully stay in contact with them. most of our favorite days was when we rented ATVs and went on the atv safari. it was 18 euro and was from noon-730pm we started with a trip to a beautiful beach where we literally basked in the water for an hour. then back on the atvs where we went to 3 of corfus most amazing, and very HIGH, lookout points on the island. one of the places we ate lunch at. then we ended at a taverna that overlooked the whole corfu coast where we had ice cream to end out exhausting and adventurous day.the best part about the end of the day was when we got to go OFF ROADING in our atvs on our way to the taverna, my favorite part might I add. then the toga party was at night which words cannot even describe. we saw real greek dancers got plates smashed on our heads, wore pink togas, and saw a greek man lift a table and chair, which were lit on fire from ouzo with his teeth and dance all at the same time. OK i really need to get some sleep now. but corfu was amazing and I think all of us could of stayed longer...hi to everyone btw! we are having an amzing time and are finnnnnnnnalllllly done with our ferry boat trips. so now we are in roma! and I love trying to speak italian to the fellow romans hahaaa we get free internet here in the hostel/apartment we are staying in so we will try and write more. miss you guys!! Girls,

Hope you had a great day today (07/29/08).

Just passing on some info from Clare's parent's. We had a little shaker Earthquake today at 11:42 am! Epicenter was Chino Hills. Last I heard it was 5.4 but, that depends on the station you have on. 28 afterschocks but all are minor. No deaths & minor damage. Clare, your parents let me know they are great & only a few pictures off kilter!!! Your Bedroom is just fine!

I only heard a boom at the office (I was walking across the room) but, the non Cal girls where out the door!

So despite what you hear...California is not floating in the Pacific tonight!

Hugs to all!!!
